Thom was just 8 years old when his caring nature started to show through, off his own back he organised a 48 hour sponsored silence - some feat for a talkative 8 year old!!, he went out collecting sponsorship from family, friends and neighbours and prepared himself for a quiet weekend (We were secretly looking forward to it also....)

Thom spent the weekend writing notes and making hand gestures frantically trying to communicate without talking - and he succeeded raising £100 in the process for a wonderful local charity.

We were invited to Demelza House for Thom to present his cheque and Thom received wider recognition for his efforts by having the presentation reported in the local newspapers.
